AHASIK PLATFORMS INCORPORATED

Our strategy of growing together

Ahasik and Waniskâw were founded as twin organizations to co-develop a transformative white-labelable online learning community. Our platform is an inquiry-based learning community designed to provide hobbyists interested in tech and creativity with online software and learning resources to write code and create digital art assets. Our platform motivates learners by removing barriers to sharing their work online and encouraging self-expression and storytelling through games, animations, digital zines, and other forms of new media art. While Waniskâw is a not-for-profit founded to serve Indigenous youth, Ahasik is for-profit, serving all who are interested.

All projects on the platform are open source, allowing learners from all demographics to use art and coding solutions created by others on the platform. This collaborative approach enables individuals to support each other asynchronously, progress further with their projects, and feel proud of their work, especially during the early stages of learning to code.

With resources from a fellowship with MIT Solve, Waniskâw is set to release an open-source minimum viable product, empowering Ahasik to use it as a catalyst. In return, Ahasik will develop high-ROI features, removing creative barriers and fostering self-expression and knowledge exploration for all.

Discover projects

In addition to highlighting resources, our home page serves as a gallery, showcasing a diverse array of projects, including games, zines, interactive art, example code snippets, static image art, GIFs, and asset packs. Here, learners can discover the possibilities of digital art and coding, drawing inspiration from the innovative work of their peers.

Create & remix

Remixing existing projects enables learners to surpass their individual capabilities by tapping into the support of their online community. This collaborative effort fosters a sense of belonging and the rewarding feeling of contributing to collective growth and innovation.

Share your vision

Learners are encouraged to share their completed projects with friends and followers by posting project links on their social media. This emphasis on sharing not only strengthens the social dimension of learning but also amplifies the reach of each individual's message, fostering a sense of community, collaboration and impact.

Our more popular twin, the Waniskâw Foundation

Waniskâw has earned the award for Best in Show at the 2023 Vancouver UX awards and a fellowship with MIT Solve. Waniskâw was tailored to suit the needs of Indigenous youth in their teens and twenties. Ahasik will license this technology to serve a broader demographic, using our revenue to grow through developing more advanced features that Waniskâw can use at no cost, ensuring Waniskâw can prioritize unleashing the potential of Indigenous youth.
